The International Alexis de Tocqueville Society worldwide expansion was launched by United Way International in December 2002. Membership in the Society is granted to those who give individual personal gifts of USD10,000+, USD100,000+, USD one million gifts and beyond. UWI is working with its member country United Ways to put in place Alexis de Tocqueville Societies. The primary purpose of The International Alexis de Tocqueville Society is to stimulate giving by wealthy individuals within a country to address needs in that country.
